Dishwashers are notoriously known for making some noises such as sloshing of the water and whirring of the pump. However, loud and unusual sounds such as grinding, buzzing, and thumping could be a cause of concern. And, quite frankly, the noises are annoying.
If your dishwasher repair, it is worth calling one of our MAAR24 technicians. We will determine the cause of the problem so that you can have a dishwasher that does what it should without giving you a headache!
Benefits of Service
It is worthwhile getting regular maintenance on your dishwasher.
- Cost-effective – Problems that go unnoticed for a while can lead to expensive repairs that otherwise could be avoided
- No more headaches – Save yourself from having to listen to constant thumping, buzzing, and grinding coming from your dishwasher
- Cleaner dishes – Faulty dishwashers don’t function as well as well-maintained appliances
- Increased life-span – The dishwasher you have can last for years, if you look after it correctly
If your dishwasher is making unusual sounds, there are some things you can do to try to solve this issue before contacting a technician or buying a whole new machine.
Check the Chopper Blade
If your dishwasher is producing a loud grinding sound, you probably have something stuck in the chopper blade area. You’ll find the chopper blade in the base of your dishwasher. To access it, pull out the lower tray, and remove the bottom dishwasher arm.
You can then take out the filter and clean it. There are probably old bits of food and debris that need cleaning out which is the cause behind the strange sounds.
Load the Dishwasher Correctly
If your dishwasher makes strange noises that sound like a bang or rattle, it is probably that crockery and utensils have moved around in the wash or weren’t loaded correctly. The arms of the dishwasher will now be hitting these items, making a strange noise.
To help with this issue, always make sure that the arms can spin when fully loaded before you put the cycle on. To stop light items from moving mid-cycle, make sure to arrange them tightly packed together to help lock them in place.
